Welcome to Goodrich and Welsh Bicknor Group Parish Council
Goodrich and Welsh Bicknor is an important and historic parish with approximately 270 houses and a population of almost 600 residents, situated in the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The parish is a vibrant ‘working village’ with its own church, village school, village hall, village shop, tennis club, cricket club and local pubs. It has a population with an age profile and social mix which is very close to the Herefordshire average. The Parish is a key tourist destination that includes Symonds Yat East, Goodrich Castle and Coppett Hill with more than 100,000 visitors a year enjoying walks beside the river, on Coppett Hill, cycling on dedicated cycle paths or canoeing on the Wye. The primary parish church is St Giles in the centre of the village but was also until recently supported by St Margaret’s Church in Welsh Bicknor.
